Music Monday: Lost Everything

Music Monday

It’s not mystery that I might have a slightly small obsession with Jamie Campbell Bower

So it shouldn’t be a surprise to learn that I’m just as obsessed with his band, COUNTERFEIT.

So knowing all of this, it definitely shouldn’t be a surprise to discover that one of the songs off their debut album, Together We Are Stronger, has made its way to the top ten inspirational songs for TWO THOUSAND YEARS.

So here we go with this week’s music choice…

#9 – Lost Everything by COUNTERFEIT.

This song was actually the first song I heard Jamie sing when the album was released- it was only a small 30-second clip I saw on Instagram and I knew, at that moment, that not only did I need to hear more of it, but that it was going to quickly become one of my favorite songs on that album.

Of course, the song came into my life three years after I wrote TWO THOUSAND YEARS, but that doesn’t mean it couldn’t have an impact on me in my writing the rest of the series, and a retrospective effect whenever I heard it.

This is where love lies alone
This is where hope dies and I hope you know
The promise you broke to come home again
has shattered my dreams, you’ve lost everything

There is a lot of lost hope within The Empire Saga, and it’s really hard to not get into specifics, but I really can’t wait for you to start reading the story so that you can let me know what you think, and that maybe these songs can resound with you like they did for me.

TWO THOUSAND YEARS is now available for pre-order on Amazon and through The Parliament House!
